10 hours spread over three days and at last the year-end purge is over.  I started with ~4450 photos of varying subjects, quality and likeability from the year 2007.  In the end (at least for now) I am down to ~1700 that I wanted to keep for one reason or another.  Now to actually sort, rank and organize…  ugh.  This was the first picture of the year (first that was kept at least)… … And this was the last of 2007 that was inexplicably deemed worthy.

I’m slowly cleaning up the incredible backlog of images on my harddrives.  This one is from last August.  I’ve been using Adobe Lightroom to organize and process most of the pics I’ve taken for the last year or so.  This software works well in itself, but also important to me, still works on older Mac hardware (I’m using it with a 1.5Ghz G4 Powerbook) unlike some of its competition.  Unfortunately, if you don’t actually utilize it’s features to organize your photos (of which it has many), you still end up with a big mess (in my case 1000′s of pics that need to be organized or deleted).  No software can overcome my laziness…
